Material selection

The materials used in gift box packaging include gray board, fiberboard, copperplate paper and other auxiliary materials. These materials have specific specifications and sizes, but each material has different quality. We must choose according to the structure and size of gift box packaging. Otherwise, if the material is not used properly, it will cause quality problems such as gift box packaging distortion, and even lead to serious situations. Gift box packaging is scrapped because it can not be formed, which not only causes serious economic losses, but also greatly affects the credibility of packaging and printing enterprises.

Therefore, when choosing materials, attention should be paid to the stiffness of the materials used for the lid and bottom of the box, usually including gray board and fiberboard. Among them, the firmness and stiffness of fibreboard is much better than that of gray board, but it has one biggest disadvantage, that is, it is not environmentally friendly, and the material itself is too heavy and brittle. It is not only bad for opening materials, but also easy to be damaged when used as gift box packaging in case of impact. In contrast, the gray board has better toughness, lighter self-weight and environmental protection.

If customers do not have special environmental protection and odor requirements, in order to ensure that the overall appearance of the package does not deform, the material of the cover and bottom of the box should be 2.8mm thick fiberboard. Then we need to determine the brand and quality of fiberboard. At present, the fiberboard brands used by our company are Gaolin and Hongta in Guangxi. The density of Gaolin fiberboard in Guangxi is small, the material inside the board is loose, and it is easy to break up after gift box packaging before being mounted, while the density of fiberboard in Hongta is relatively large, the material inside the board is compact, easy to bond, and it is not easy to break up after packaging.

However, if customers require packaging to be as environmentally friendly and odorless as possible, they can only choose gray board. Because of the large size of this gift box, we should pay more attention to the quality when choosing gray board. At present, the gray board brands used by our company are gray rabbit, Fugui bamboo and imported Dutch board, with the quality from low to high in turn. Finally, according to the commodity grade positioning, we choose the medium-quality Fugui bamboo high-gloss board to make the cover and bottom of gift box packaging. In order to avoid the sag of the cover and bottom, we choose the high-gloss board with the thickness of 3.0mm.

At present, there are no specific standards and specifications for the selection and use of gift box packaging materials, which can only be adjusted according to the requirements of customers. Therefore, for packaging and printing enterprises, only according to customer requirements and daily practical experience, collecting different gift box packaging specifications and size and box structure, can we achieve the rationalization of the use of materials, so as to meet the different needs of customers and enhance the market competitiveness of enterprises.
